CapTrader at a glance

An established multi-asset broker, reviewed by the Tradelytic team and rated by traders.

CapTrader is a German-based broker offering access to stocks, ETFs, options, futures, forex and bonds across 150+ global exchanges, operating as an introducing broker built on the Interactive Brokers infrastructure. Regulated by BaFin in Germany, it targets serious retail and professional investors who want institutional-grade market access at competitive costs, particularly for stock and derivatives trading across global exchanges.

In our assessment, its strongest points are BaFin regulation, genuine multi-exchange global access powered by the Interactive Brokers network and highly competitive commissions for stock and derivatives trading. The main trade-off is that the platform complexity and account structure are better suited to experienced traders and investors – complete beginners will find the environment demanding.

Fees & platforms

What it costs to trade, and what you'll trade on.

CapTrader uses a commission-based pricing model rather than spreads. Stock commissions are highly competitive – from €2 per trade on European exchanges and from $0.005 per share on US exchanges, with a minimum per trade. Options and futures carry separate commission schedules. There are no account maintenance fees above the minimum activity threshold.

Platforms

Trading is available via Interactive Brokers' Trader Workstation (TWS), one of the most powerful retail trading platforms available, alongside a WebTrader version and mobile app. TWS offers advanced order types, multi-asset portfolio management, risk analytics and global market access. The learning curve is significant but the depth is unmatched at the retail level.

Funding

Deposits and withdrawals supported via bank transfer. Always confirm current fees and available methods directly with the broker.
