IronFX at a glance

An established multi-asset broker, reviewed by the Tradelytic team and rated by traders.

IronFX is a globally active broker offering forex and CFDs across 500+ instruments, with platform support for MT4 across desktop, web and mobile. Founded in 2010, it is one of the longer-standing names in the retail trading space and holds regulation across multiple jurisdictions including CySEC and FCA. It positions itself toward both retail and professional traders, with a range of account types that adjust spreads and commissions depending on trading volume and style.

In our assessment, its strongest points are multi-jurisdiction regulation, a broad instrument range and a long operational track record; the main trade-off is a history of client complaints that has at times overshadowed its otherwise solid technical offering. The sections below break down where it does well and where it falls short.

Our verdict

The Tradelytic editorial assessment — independent of any commercial relationship.

4.7 /5

A regulated, experienced broker with broad market access, held back by a mixed reputation

IronFX earns a solid score for its regulatory standing, instrument range and platform reliability. It suits traders who want multi-jurisdiction oversight and access to a wide variety of markets through a familiar MT4 environment.

Our score weighs regulation and safety, trading costs, platform quality, range of markets and customer support. IronFX performs well on regulation and market access, with CySEC and FCA coverage providing meaningful investor protections including access to compensation schemes. Where it loses ground is on reputation – the broker has faced a volume of client complaints over the years that is higher than its peers at the same regulatory tier, and that record is a factor any prospective client should weigh seriously.

For experienced traders who have done their due diligence and are comfortable with that context, IronFX offers a technically capable and well-regulated trading environment. For traders prioritising a clean, dispute-free track record above all else, there are safer choices.

Who it's for

Here's how to tell if this broker is right for you.

A good fit if you…
  • Value multi-jurisdiction regulation including CySEC and FCA coverage
  • Trade on MT4 and want desktop, web and mobile access under one account
  • Trade actively enough to benefit from tiered account conditions
  • Have prior trading experience and can evaluate broker terms independently
  • Want access to 500+ instruments across multiple asset classes
Look elsewhere if you…
  • Are a complete beginner who needs a fully guided onboarding experience
  • Trade rarely and would risk triggering the inactivity fee
  • Want the absolute tightest raw spreads for high-frequency scalping

Fees & platforms

What it costs to trade, and what you'll trade on.

IronFX operates a multi-account structure with six account types ranging from standard spread-only accounts to raw spread accounts with commission per round turn lot. Entry-level accounts carry spreads from around 1.0 pips with no commission. ECN-style accounts tighten spreads to 0.0 pips with a commission applied per lot. There are no deposit fees on most standard methods, though an inactivity fee applies to dormant accounts after an extended period.

Platforms

Trading is available exclusively on MetaTrader 4, accessible via desktop application, WebTrader browser version and mobile app for iOS and Android. MT4 covers the core requirements of most retail strategies including charting, custom indicators and expert advisors. Traders who require MT5's additional order types and extended timeframes will need to look elsewhere as IronFX does not currently offer MT5.

Funding

Deposits and withdrawals are supported via bank transfer, credit and debit card and a range of e-wallets. Processing times vary by method, with e-wallets typically fastest. Always confirm the current fee schedule and available payment methods for your region directly with the broker before funding an account.
